Car & Driver Piles On

Well, it's election season again, and we all know what that means - it's time for that well-known Republican rag, Car and Driver Magazine, to go after Del. Dave Albo again, right? Huh?

In a recent opinion column in Car & Driver Magazine, their columnist discusses a new trend of cash-strapped local governments adopting policies to encourage officers to write more tickets to balance the books. They go on to feature various civil remedial fees around the country and sum it up with Virginia's vaunted "abuser fee" plan noting that Virginia has taken things "to the thermonuclear level". In doing so, they note:
Interestingly, David B. Albo, the Virginia state legislator credited with masterminding [abuser fees], is a partner in a law firm specializing in DUI and traffic cases - a specialty that just might benefit from these jacked-up traffic fines.
As for that comment, we here at Albo Must Go have been preaching that for over a year now!
